- In the background is the Kierstone Dog Rocks on the original Kierstone property (Kierstone being the original name for Carlwood Station).
- The train has arrived on the down main at Tarana, presumably to be marshalled onto a train heading for Lithgow.
- A down goods has just arrived at Oberon and some consignment has been unloaded to the platform (24th May 1979).
- 4917 waits at the station for departure.
- 4917 waiting to take the Up train to Tarana.
- 4917 has marshalled a short Up Goods.
