Spring Open Day a great success!

All the hard work put in by OTHR members in preparation for the Spring Open Day on Sunday 30/10/11 paid off when mother nature decided to show us a little ray of sunshine on the day, and a steady stream of people visited the station area.

Some bargains were to be had with a good number of car boot sale vendors turning up, the sausages were sizzling all day, the steam engines were puffing away and our volunteers were busy talking the talk to the interested visitors.

Special thanks also to Michael McGinty from SETS for organising the Oberon Explorer Tour to co-incide with the open day – we enjoyed your visit and hope the day was worthwhile.

More photos to come as they become available to the secretary to publish.

Spring Open Day a great success! — 1 Comment

  1. I was a member of the SETS group which visited on Sunday. Thank you so much for a most enjoyable experience and special thanks to those responsible for the wonderful lunch you provided us. The most comprehensive “sausage sizzle” I have ever had! You are to be congratulated on your achievements in renovating the very picturesque line toward Tarana and acquiring locomotives and rolling stock. Best wishes for your continued success. Many thanks, Stephen Halgren
