The headline event on the Oberon events calendar is coming up again on the 9-10 February.
OTHR is a major partner in the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair which is fast becoming renown for a fantastic array of historic and heritage vehicles, machinery and equipment on show. Everything from collections of shearing hand peices to military tanks have been on display over the weekend.
If you are thinking of coming up to Oberon make Saturday the 9th February the day … a Grand Main Street Rally occurs at 10am, followed by the Fair throwing it’s gates open. Described as “Heritage Journey” visitors enjoy seeing how things were done is a past, but not forgotten era – with the sounds and smells of live steam engines, wood cutting displays, tractor pulls and much more.
The Oberon Railway Station is part of the fair, with our volunteers on hand for guided tours of our heritage end-platform carriages, diesel locomotives and restored s-trucks and other heritage rolling stock including a great collection of trikes.
Visitors to the station are also invited to view our newly completed rolling stock shed and talk with our team about our plans into 2013.
